Sunderland and Sheffield United eye transfer battle for attacker with 23 goal contributions in 24/25
According to reports, Sunderland is one of the teams interested in Kwame Poku.
Kwame Poku, an attacker for Peterborough United, is reportedly being pursued by a number of teams this summer, including Sunderland.
With 31 appearances across all competitions, the 23-year-old concluded the season with 12 goals and 11 assists as the Posh fell to 18th place in the third division.
He has recently been a notable player for the League One team.
That comeback has been sufficient to guarantee that Poku has been at the center of transfer rumors on a regular basis lately, and now that the EFL season is officially over, it seems that interest in the winger will only increase.

How has the future of Kwame Poku been discussed?
Barry Fry, the chairman of Peterborough, gave an update over the weekend regarding the high level of interest his team is now receiving in their star player.
“There were twenty-six clubs in for him the last time I heard,” he remarked. I’m not shocked. The child is capable of making it to the Premier League.
Over the last four years, we have helped him grow to the point where he is prepared to advance in his career.
In support of Fry’s analysis, Football League World claims that Sheffield United and Sunderland are interested in Poku and that Birmingham City has already submitted an offer to sign him.
In light of this, it is hypothesized that the Black Cats may have an advantage if they choose to increase their bid because of their increased financial clout following their promotion to the Premier League.
As of right now, Poku is anticipated to leave Peterborough this summer because his contract is about to end.
United is confident that a tribunal would provide them with some sort of recompense if he joins another English club, but if he transfers elsewhere, including to Scotland, he will probably leave for a fraction of the asking amount.
Rangers and Celtic are reportedly keeping an eye on his condition in light of this.
In regards to Sunderland’s transfer plans, what has Regis Le Bris stated?
During a press conference earlier this month, Le Bris discussed Sunderland’s plans for the summer transfer window and acknowledged that a lot would depend on the division the team ended up in.
“We’re working on two plans [one for the Championship and one for the Premier League],” he stated.
The playoffs are the primary emphasis, but we still have a lot of work to do and communicate with Kyril [Louis-Dreyfus], Kristjaan [Speakman], and the recruitment structure on a daily basis.
As part of the process, we hold frequent meetings; for instance, I have one this afternoon.
