Leeds United set to ramp up talks to sign international striker this week as loan-to-buy deal mooted

Leeds United could be edging towards their first signing of the summer transfer window, with what could be a very exciting deal for a very exciting young forward.

The summer transfer window opens on June 1st meaning that Leeds United can officially sign new players in the coming days, and for Daniel Farke, plenty of new players are needed this summer.

Leeds United have a relatively thin squad as it is. Stepping up to the Premier League as well gives the Whites extra incentive to really bolster their squad this summer; not only with numbers but with quality too.

Right now, Leeds United are being linked with several players, though none of which seem to be very close to moving to Elland Road. One name mentioned is Semih Kilicsoy who keeps on being linked with a move away from Besiktas.

Leeds United set to ramp up talks to sign Besiktas’ Semih Kilicsoy

Besiktas and Turkey striker Kilicsoy, 19, looks as though he’s set to be on the move this summer, with his situation at the club looking as though it’s become very testing. He failed to impress in 2024/25 but remains a highly-regarded player, and so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Besiktas want to send Kilicsoy out on loan.

It was previously reported that Leeds United were set to bid for Kilicsoy, who’s valued at £8.5million. The latest coming out of Turkey states that Leeds United are now open to doing a loan deal for the attacker but that they want a buy option included in the deal.

Turkish outlet Fanatik report so, adding that ‘negotiations between the parties are expected to accelerate in the coming days’. Kilicsoy had initially turned heads after scoring 11 goals in 23 Super Lig games in 2023/24, before going on to score just three in 31 this time round.

Semih Kilicsoy has no option but to leave Besiktas this summer

From the outside looking in, it looks as though Kilicsoy has received some rather harsh treatment at Besiktas, who appear to have washed their hands with the player after one slow season, but at the same time wanting to safeguard his potential with a loan exit rather than a permanent one.
