With the summer transfer window beginning on June 1, several teams in England will be digging deep to enhance their squads and send a clear message of ambition to their opponents.
Millwall, however, must think differently.
According to
Transfermarkt, Millwall is one of only eighteen clubs to have appeared in the Championship since 1992-93 with a positive net transfer expenditure of more than £10 million, having produced nearly £50 million in sales while spending only £35 million.
This stands in stark contrast to many of the 57 clubs that have competed in both the Championship and the Premier League.
