Exclusive: £20m Star ‘Attracted’ to Quitting Sunderland This Summer

Sunderland star Jobe Bellingham is considering following in his brother’s footsteps and moving to the Bundesliga rather than staying at the Stadium of Light after playing a key role in the club’s promotion to the Premier League, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

The Black Cats ended their eight-year hiatus from the top division with a 2-1 success over Sheffield United in the Championship play-off final last weekend, and head coach Regis Le Bris is eager to strengthen his squad when the summer transfer window opens.

Although the French tactician is already aware that Tommy Watson has made his final appearance for Sunderland, thanks to a £10 million transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion agreed weeks before his stoppage time winner at Wembley, he is also concerned that Bellingham will leave before the new season begins. Bellingham’s Entertaining Exit From Black Cats

According to GMS sources, Bellingham is considering leaving Sunderland for a new challenge in the Bundesliga, giving Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund renewed hope of raiding the Stadium of Light as they prepare for a Champions League-filled season.

The Black Cats stated that they would require more than £20 million for the adolescent central midfielder before promotion, but this has not discouraged his admirers, and it is becoming increasingly likely that they will be obliged to compete with a formal bid in the coming weeks.

According to GMS sources, Bellingham has been considering his future after being a regular starter in Sunderland’s push for a return to the Premier League, and he has not ruled out the possibility of joining Eintracht Frankfurt or Borussia Dortmund, both of whom have made strong pitches to him since the playoff final.

Although the Black Cats are in a strong negotiating position and are not under any pressure to sell the England under-21 international, with three years remaining on his £12,500-per-week contract, their resolve is likely to be tested during the summer transfer window.

Sunderland may still be able to persuade Bellingham to stay at the Stadium of Light rather than take on a new challenge, according to GMS sources, but Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund’s desire to tempt him away means he will have to make a critical decision when he returns from his holiday in Ibiza.

Unfazed by Jude’s path, Bellingham family members hope Bundesliga switch will be a special event.

According to GMS sources, Bellingham is unconcerned about following in the footsteps of his brother Jude, who is currently at Real Madrid after previously being on the books of Borussia Dortmund, with family members believing it could be a unique opportunity for him to advance his career.

The 19-year-old has been described as a ‘freak of nature’ by Black Cats teammate Dan Neil, and he is keen to carefully consider his options before potentially leaving the Stadium of Light rather than getting involved in a battle to keep his current employers from being relegated back to the Championship immediately.

Although there have been suggestions that Bellingham does not want to put himself under pressure to emulate his brother’s achievements if he moves to the Bundesliga, GMS sources say he is considering leaving Sunderland because there is a belief that Jude developed faster due to being out of the spotlight in England.

GMS senior writer Ben Jacobs recently stated that Crystal Palace are also interested in signing the former Birmingham City youngster, having previously attempted to close the deal, implying that Le Bris may face a battle to persuade him to stay on board.
