Newcastle United receive Bryan Mbeumo update as Brentford transfer stance revealed.

Bryan Mbeumo remains a key Newcastle United target, as his departure from Brentford appears imminent.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has expressed concern about the possibility of losing Cameroon winger Bryan Mbeumo to Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.
The Danish has recently appeared to accept the fact that Mbeumo will leave west London as European clubs compete for his signature. Brentford threatened to break into Europe at times this season, but the winger’s 20 top-flight goals, combined with Yoane Wissa’s 19 strikes, failed to propel the Bees into the big time.
As a result, Mbeumo appears destined to move up to a Champions League club, as that is his preferred destination. That puts Newcastle in a strong position as Eddie Howe’s side considers how to make the most of their newfound transfer freedom in light of recent PSR struggles.
Brentford, meanwhile, want to get as much money as possible out of Mbeumo’s departure, with Frank admitting it will take ‘a lot’ to entice him away from the Gtech Community Stadium.
“It is obvious that if he is to be sold, it must be for a nice, nice price. It’s a lot. Mucho. “Really a lot,” the Brentford manager told Nordic outlet ViaPlay.
“It is clear that he cannot be replaced one for one. It can’t be done. There is a reason why he costs x number of million pounds, but we do not have x number of million pounds to spend.
“I would be surprised if many of the big clubs do not look at him. I’d be surprised at what he has to offer. How many wingers score 20 goals for a mid-table team?
“And then with seven assists and his work ethic. And his character. All of these things indicate that he has a lot and is a good player.
Last year, Mbeumo announced that he was ready to take the next step in his career, telling L’Equipe that he wanted to play in the best competitions as soon as possible. No move materialised, and the wide man went on to have his best Premier League season in red and white.
Newcastle had previously been looking for more right-wing firepower, but have yet to strengthen their position since the 2021 takeover.
Since Miguel Almiron’s departure in January, Jacob Murphy has been Howe’s only true right-sided forward, with left-sided stars Harvey Barnes and Anthony Gordon filling in on occasion, as well as striker William Osula.
