A recent report from Sky Sports suggests that Leeds United are actively pursuing Caoimhín Kelleher, the talented goalkeeper currently with Liverpool. However, they aren’t alone in the chase—West Ham United and Brentford are also said to be in the running to land the Republic of Ireland international during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Kelleher’s Standout Performances at Anfield
Kelleher has spent recent seasons as a reliable deputy for Liverpool, stepping in when called upon and delivering solid performances. During the 2023/24 campaign, he featured in 20 matches across all competitions, conceding 20 goals while recording nine clean sheets—a strong return for a backup keeper.

At 26 years old, Kelleher has consistently shown his ability to perform under pressure and contribute to Liverpool’s campaigns in both domestic and European competitions. Still, despite his consistency, he remains second choice behind Alisson Becker, and with new manager Arne Slot now in charge, that pecking order doesn’t appear likely to change.
Kelleher is under contract at Liverpool until 2026, but reports suggest that Leeds could secure his services at a relatively affordable fee, making him a realistic and potentially valuable addition.

Why Kelleher Could Be a Key Addition for Daniel Farke
Kelleher brings a lot to the table for any side looking to strengthen their options in goal. He’s calm under pressure, good with his hands, and shows strong instincts when it comes to shot-stopping and making key saves. He’s also proactive in dealing with danger, often stepping off his line confidently when needed.
One area where Kelleher still needs to grow is in gaining consistent first-team football—something that’s been hard to come by at Anfield. A move to Leeds could finally offer him the platform to prove that he belongs among the top keepers in English football.
If Leeds manage to bring him in, it would be a major boost for Daniel Farke, who is looking to solidify his squad ahead of the Premier League return. Kelleher could not only compete for the number one spot but possibly make it his own.
Given his age, top-level experience, and calm presence in goal, Kelleher looks like an excellent fit for Leeds United. If the club can finalise a deal this summer, they’ll be bringing in a goalkeeper who is entering his prime years and has the potential to become a mainstay at Elland Road.
