‘Stand by’ – Huddersfield Town owner Kevin Nagle drops exciting transfer update

Big changes are expected to be made to Huddersfield Town’s first team squad this summer

Huddersfield Town owner Kevin Nagle says the club is doing “lots of work on potential signings” as they look to strengthen their squad in the coming months.

The Terriers revealed their first signing of the offseason on Friday, with Ryan Ledson set to join Town on a three-year deal at the start of July after his contract with Preston North End expired.

The transfer window officially opens tomorrow for a 10-day period from Sunday to June 10, then reopens on June 16 through September 1. The decision to have a brief transfer period was made to allow clubs to recruit players ahead of the Club World Cup, although a break is required due to a rule that prevents the window from being open for more than 89 days.

The Terriers have lots of options for changing their playing group this summer, as Town announced last month that seven first-team players would be released at the conclusion of their contracts, while four loanees had returned to their parent clubs.
Nagle responded to a supporter’s question on X about how decisions on new recruits are being made without a sporting director in place, saying: “There is a lot of work on potential acquisitions. Our recruitment team is quite active. Have powerful data models that help Lee (Grant) target the correct players.

In response to another fan’s request for signatures, Nagle stated prior to Ledson’s arrival: “They are coming on schedule. “Stand by.”
In addition to making their first signing, the club wrapped up their managerial search last week, with the owner saying: “Really excited about Lee Grant coming aboard. He knows where to take us.

“He also has a great family, and we met some of them today (Thursday) during the press conference. I am quite excited about our future. You’ll need some patience and time. “Lee knows how to win Yorkshire style.”
