When considering a move from Belgian football, Matija Frigan thinks he’s ‘ideally equipped’ for a move to Rangers.
During the off-season, Frigan is back in his hometown of Rijeka and spoke out about rumoured interest from Russell Martin’s side.
“Rangers?” he said. I’d fit in with that league style. That’s the kind of football I believe I play.
Although it’s encouraging to read and hear of clubs’ enthusiasm, we’ll see. Nothing has been decided yet.
“Things are in the hands of my agent and when there is something more concrete, we will know. We will weigh everything up and choose the best option.
“I have a good season behind me, some clubs are contacting me, but we will see what is best.
“A change of scenery is usually beneficial, so I can’t say that I’m not enjoying my time in Belgium.
“We will see what transpires during this transfer window, but nothing is ruled out.
“There is a lot of interest in me, and I’m not in a rush. That makes all the players delighted, of course.
“I’m much more powerful in Belgium. Ninety percent of Belgian football training consists on working on physical preparedness.
“I can say that I’m a lot stronger both mentally and physically.”
