After agreeing to a new deal, wing-back Lewis Richards of Bradford City has given the League One team a boost.

The 23-year-old’s contract with Valley Parade has been extended by one more year, till next summer.
Richards, who had been linked to a summer transfer to Stockport County, made 22 appearances during the Bantams‘ promotion campaign the previous season and scored two goals during an injury-plagued campaign.
After deciding to postpone shoulder surgery because of a problematic problem, Richards subsequently injured his hamstring during the February match against Bromley.
After playing on loan at Harrogate Town in Yorkshire, the former Wolves player joined the team in 2023.
In his tenure with City, he has made 60 appearances.
“I am really pleased to have re-signed with the club and extended my stay, especially after last season,” Richards remarked in reference to signing new terms.
“I was promoted last season, and I saw how big the club is, and it was incredible to see.”
“The club’s ambition is huge and a real driving factor in me extending my stay.”
“Lewis had a difficult time with injury, but we believe he is a very good player with lots of potential in him,” said City manager Graham Alexander, who expressed his excitement at the developments.
“Whenever he has played, he has demonstrated his abilities, and we hope to see him return to the pitch with us soon.”
