A statement from the board of Southampton FC

We are able to report that we have achieved a deal with Ivan Jurić, our manager of the Men’s First Team, to

terminate his tenure at the club today.

Ivan arrived in Southampton during a difficult period and was given the responsibility of attempting to strengthen a

team under trying circumstances. We regret that performances haven’t advanced as we had intended, but we want to

thank Ivan and his team for their integrity and perseverance in trying to keep us going despite all the obstacles.

As we enter a crucial summer, we think it’s critical to provide supporters, players, and staff with some certainty on

the future now that relegation to the Championship has been confirmed.

The process of finding a new manager to lead us as we look to secure an immediate return to the Premier League has

now begun and is being led by Group Technical Director Johannes Spors.

Simon Rusk has consented to serve as the team’s interim manager for the final seven games of the current campaign,

with Adam Lallana providing support.

We are still immensely appreciative of our fans’ continued support. Everyone at the club appreciates their incredible

perseverance and devotion in the face of an extremely difficult season.

We want them to feel proud of their team and club again, even with the difficulties that relegation will bring.
