Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin has promised to maximise his summer transfer budget by negotiating the best deals for signing targets.
Thelin’s summer window strengthening plan has already begun, with the signing of Western Sydney Wanderers winger Nicolas Milanovic.
Thelin believes the highly rated Milanovic will add “a lot of value” to the club and squad.
Aberdeen agreed to a fee of just under £400,000 for the 23-year-old.
Milanovic has signed a pre-contract agreement and will join Pittodrie in the summer on a three-year deal.
The Dons have the option to extend the deal for a fourth year.
The Pittodrie manager will need to strengthen his squad to ensure that the Reds can compete on two fronts next season after qualifying for Europe.

It is still unclear whether the Dons will compete in the Europa League or Conference League qualifiers.
Aberdeen are battling to finish fourth in the Premiership, which earns them a Europa League second qualifying round spot.
The Dons lead fifth-placed Dundee United by three points going into Saturday’s high-stakes match at Tannadice.
A draw would be enough for Aberdeen to finish fourth.
Regarding summer signings, Thelin stated, “Let’s see what the future brings, but we always try to use the budget we have.”
“You have a budget, and we try to get the most value out of it.
“We will try to use the money wisely based on what we have and can do.
“And try to get the most value with every player.”
Only 24 hours after confirming his move to Aberdeen, Milanovic was called up to Australia’s senior squad.

The camp is part of the preparation for World Cup qualifying matches against Japan (June 5) and Saudi Arabia (June 10).
Thelin stated, “Nicolas has a profile that will fit very well at Aberdeen.
“I think he will bring a lot of value to our club and our squad.”
Aberdeen have had a tough week, losing 5-1 to Celtic at Pittodrie on Wednesday and 4-0 away at Ibrox four days prior.
Areas to strengthen in window
The Dons have won only twice in their last 15 Premier League away games.
What other areas and positions on the team does Thelin intend to strengthen during the summer transfer window?
He stated, “We have some areas we are looking at, but I will discuss that later because we are still in the season.”
“We have to focus on what we have right in front of right now.”
Two games loom ahead of Thelin and Aberdeen, both of which are critical to not only this season but also the next.

Following the Premiership finale at Tannadice, the Dons will seek to win the Scottish Cup for the first time since 1990.
If Aberdeen wins the trophy at Hampden, they will qualify for the Europa League play-offs.
This will also ensure European league participation, as there is a safety net of dropping into the Conference League.

When asked about the significance of the season’s final two games, Thelin said, “I don’t need to tell the players.
“They understand how important it is against Dundee United and that there is a cup final in a week.
“Our ambition is high as we prepare ourselves optimally.
“The way we train now is effective, and we are prepared for the game.
“When you’re in the top six, you want to get to the highest position possible.
“The first part (third) is now impossible, so we must try to achieve fourth place.”
“The players pushed themselves after a difficult previous season to make it to the final.
“We have a chance to finish fourth in the league.
“If we win against Dundee United, which we believe we can do, we have had a really good league season.
“And we can close that one and look forward to the next league season.
“But we have a really great opportunity to do something really big in the final.”
On-loan Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Alfie Dorrington is suspended for the trip to Tannadice having been sent-off against Celtic.
