Aberdeen could land summer transfer windfall from sale of former star

Aberdeen could land summer transfer windfall from sale of former star.

Aberdeen could benefit this summer from a sell-on provision included in the contract of a former Pittodrie player who is moved overseas.

Aberdeen might get a significant summer transfer window windfall from the sale of former player Ylber Ramadani. The Dons traded Ramadani to Italian Serie A club Lecce for £1.2 million in the summer of 2023.

Aberdeen paid under £100,000 the previous summer to sign the Albanian international from Hungarian club MTK Budapest.

According to reports from Italy, Ramadani is a transfer target for Saudi Pro League club Al-Ain.

According to reports, Al-Ain has initiated talks with Lecce about a potential transaction and is willing to offer Ramadani a lucrative annual salary of €1.2 million (£1 million).

Ramadani, 29, is under contract with Lecce for another year, and Aberdeen agreed to a 10% sell-on clause when he moved to the Italian club.

If Ramadani is sold this summer, the Dons will benefit financially. Ramadani scored in a 1-0 victory over Torino last month, securing Lecce’s place in Italy’s top division.
