The Sunday Times Scotland 2025 High School League Table has been announced; where does your child’s school rank?

The Sunday Times ranks Aberdeen Grammar School as one of Scotland’s top high schools.
The city’s oldest school ranks 9th in the newspaper’s 2025 Secondary School League Table, making it the only institution north of the central belt to make the list.
Aberdeen Grammar jumped from 15th to 14th place in 2024, thanks to a 10% increase (64% to 74%) in the percentage of students attaining the Scottish government’s “gold standard” of five highers.

Cults Academy has improved from 15th to 11th place in 2025, after falling out of the top ten the previous year.
Banchory Academy ranks 32nd on the list, with 58% of students getting five or more highers, followed by Westhill Academy in 33rd and Oldmachar Academy in 59th place.
Jordanhill School in Glasgow was voted Scotland’s top-performing high school for the eighth consecutive year.
