Agreement almost done’ for Middlesbrough signing – Boro finalising dea

Middlesbrough are interested in signing FC Metz’s Cheikh Sabaly this summer, according to a source from France.

Sabaly played primarily as a striker and occasionally on the wings last season, scoring 15 goals and providing four assists in 37 games. He contributed significantly to his team’s promotion to the top flight.

The 26-year-old is in his final year of contract, and Middlesbrough want to sign him away from Metz.

Foot Mercato reports that the Senegal international is in advanced negotiations with the Championship team.

According to reports, the attacker is enticed by Middlesbrough’s project and might make the move to Riverside Stadium soon.

According to the publication, Boro is set to make a “nice move.” However, they make no mention of the negotiations between the two teams or whether Metz is getting what they want.

Sébastien Denis and Josué Cassé covered the report for Foot Mercato, and their colleague, Santi Aouna, provided further information on X, formerly known as Twitter.

He thinks Middlesbrough is closing in on this operation since their ‘agreement is virtually done’ with Metz and they are finalizing the transaction with Sabaly. Aouna has likewise not included any figures in his report.
