MILLWALL’S record-breaking signing of Josh Coburn has reunited the Lions’ striking duo, which helped the club reach the play-offs late last season.
Mihailo Ivanovic and Coburn scored eight goals in the seven games they started together, with Millwall winning five of them as they climbed into the top six. While the Lions came just short on the final day, losing 3-1 away to second-place Burnley, the pair caused havoc for the Clarets’ centre-backs, CJ Egan-Riley and Maxime Esteve, both selected to the Championship Team of the Season.
Coburn played an important role in Ivanovic’s goal, keeping the ball high up the pitch before the Serbian timed his move to beat his opponent and touch in George Honeyman’s cross. Coburn later almost restored Millwall’s lead.
