Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph confirms RB Leipzig’s interest in Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn, indicating that the pursuit may escalate in the coming days.
However, no official bids have been lodged for the 25-year-old, and Joseph writes that no serious conversations have taken place, despite some rumors indicating that talks were advanced.
It’s not surprising that Kuhn has sparked attention from German clubs. Last season, he had an amazing campaign, scoring 21 goals and assisting 15 times across all competitions, including significant efforts in the Champions League, one of which came against RB Leipzig.
Of course, talk surrounding his future is nothing new; when his previous Bundesliga team exhibits interest, tongues will naturally wag. However, sources say that while Celtic are aware of the interest, no formal bids have been made yet.
If Leipzig or another club makes a bid of around £15 million, Celtic will need to make a decision. The Celtics will surely demand a high price for a player who has become as one of their most effective players, despite his drop down at the end of the season. Kuhn may be interested in joining RB Leipzig, but it’s unclear if Celtic are willing to sell him and at what price.
