Before the upcoming season, Cardiff City and Wrexham switched spots in the Football League, and Phil Parkinson might yet make things worse for the Bluebirds.
Cardiff City was relegated from the Championship last season, while Wrexham was promoted from League One. As a result, the two teams will not play each other again.
In order to steady themselves after a spectacular third consecutive promotion under Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Phil Parkinson’s team will instead play Welsh rivals Swansea City in the second division next season.
However, Cardiff could still suffer this summer at the hands of the Dragons. Several Cardiff City players, notably Callum Robinson, Ollie Tanner, and Isaak Davies, have been linked to Wrexham this summer.
With Wrexham announcing the permanent signing of Ryan Hardie from relegated Plymouth Argyle, Parkinson recently kicked off the summer transfer window. The Dragons only had to pay £700,000 for the player.

Brian Barry-Murphy has been named manager of Cardiff City. The Bluebirds may now move forward with their summer transfer plans, which have been in the works for some time.
It appears that Barry-Murphy’s ambitions centre mostly on retaining the majority of his present team for the upcoming year.
“The key message I had was that there was no pressure to sell any player in the squad,” the new Cardiff manager told WalesOnline.
One important procedure going ahead is that I have the full support of the club’s top executives to improve everything we wish to undertake. That will be the guiding principle for the preseason and beyond.
“I’m thrilled with the team and can’t wait to get to work with them on Monday. The certainty that many of the guys on this playing squad, whom I know very well—people I’ve either worked with in the past or observed from the outside—will stay here was the most crucial element for me.
