Unai Emery appeared to give the entire team a workout at Aston Villa’s preseason friendly against St. Louis City, but one player’s notable absence has raised new rumors that he may soon be leaving Villa Park.
In the US encounter, Emery used a staggering 22 players, including Emi Martinez after halftime, but only Jacob Ramsey and third-choice goalie Joe Gauci were able to keep the bench warm.
According to rumors, the midfield player is unhappy with his lack of playing time under Emery and is looking for more. A transfer across the Premier League is reportedly imminent.
Since a transfer and medical are imminent, many people have assumed that Ramsey’s decision to not play was an attempt to protect him from harm.
With just one year left on his contract, Villa would be well advised to sell immediately in order to recover some money. As a young and gifted Englishman, he might command a high price.
