Attempt to hijack Sunderland transfer – Black Cats have agreed deal but rival won’t give up

Galatasaray has reportedly launched a last-ditch effort to recruit Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, according to Turkish media.

According to reports, the Serbian is almost ready to sign with Sunderland, but it appears the Super Lig winners are trying to sabotage the deal.

Haber Sarikirmizi was interviewed by Milliyet journalist Nevzat Dindar about Galatasaray’s interest in the Chelsea star as they want to get a new number one.

Fernando Muslera’s contract with the Turkish champions ended last month, and they are now looking for a new goalkeeper. In recent weeks, Alisson of Liverpool and Emiliano Martínez of Aston Villa have also been mentioned.

The Turkish journalist claims that Cimbom has proposed a €7.5 million loan charge with a €15 million purchase obligation. According to reports, the original loan fee offer was €5 million.

Dindar claims that Sunderland has already agreed to sign Petrovic despite Galatasaray’s better offer, despite the fact that the 25-year-old would like to move to Istanbul.

After spending the previous season on loan at Strasburg, the player is anticipated to depart Stamford Bridge this summer. Chelsea has a contract with him through June 2030.
