The defender for Bayern Munich is keen to return to the starting lineup.

Since Jonathan Tah joined Bayern Munich on a free transfer from Bayer Leverkusen in June, the team has not concentrated on acquiring another defender. At Bayern, Tah took Eric Dier’s place in the team. The team has had their eye on the German defender for over a year after failing to come to a deal with Bayer Leverkusen to sign him last summer. Alongside Dayot Upamecano in the middle defence, Tah has immediately entered the starting lineup. With Hiroki Ito and Kim Min-jae as additional central defenders in the team, Bayern is well-represented in this position. If necessary, Josip Stanisic can also play in the central defence.

Bayern isn’t aggressively searching for a central defender because they have a number of options in the heart of defence. If one centre-back departs before the window closes, this position might alter. Since the conclusion of the previous season, Kim Min-jae has been a strong contender to leave. At the close of the season, the South Korean defender was allegedly considering his future as well. Although Juventus was mentioned as a potential suitor for Kim Min-jae, Al-Nassr has shown the most serious interest. Foot Mercator in France said earlier this week that Kim Min-jae and the Saudi club were still in talks.
But according to Sky Sports in Germany, Kim Min-jae’s close associates have vehemently denied the rumours that he was connected to Al-Nassr. The former Napoli defender is keen to return to the starting lineup and keep up his strong play for the Bavarian team. The same cannot be said about Bayern’s position on the defender, despite Kim Min-jae’s desire to remain in Munich. The Bundesliga winners are still willing to consider bids for the former centre back for Napoli.
Despite having a strong first half of the previous season, Kim Min-jae’s performance declined during Ruckrunde. An Achilles issue was the main cause of the decline in shape. The debut campaign for the South Korean defence was also uneventful. Bayern may have been persuaded to consider bids for him due to his lack of consistency over the previous two seasons. Bayern will not make any serious attempts to let go of the South Korean defender. But his predicament is undoubtedly one to keep an eye on in the upcoming weeks. Tah and Upamecano are now anticipated to start the season’s opening competitive match.
