Blackburn is about to finalize the “long-term” signing of a 23-year-old star.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri has provided a crucial update, stating that Blackburn Rovers and the team have now agreed to sign a flexible forward.
Rovers finished two points behind and missed out on a spot in the 2024–25 Championship playoffs. Now, they must focus on the upcoming campaign. The 49-year-old manager Valerien Ismael recently talked about his summer intentions, which include his first opportunity to sign players he thinks will fit his system the best at Blackburn.
“Now that I know more about the players, it is our responsibility to retain the great bulk of this team. For a manager, reliability is crucial, but in order to improve our ability to compete, we also need to add some of the team’s weaknesses. We have a lot of faith in the players, and I believe we will be successful if we have a strong preseason and are more transparent about our values.”
One player who has been linked to Blackburn for the summer is Jerry Yates of Swansea City, but Hull City is also reportedly vying for his services. However, with a new claim, it appears that one piece of business is quite close.
Tavolieri on X claims that Blackburn has agreed a “long-term” deal to acquire Kortrijk winger Dion De Neve, and the team is currently very close to signing the 23-year-old. The youthful attacker will begin his medical after signing his deal.
Even though Rovers fans may not be familiar with De Neve, any new player is intriguing, and he might be a great addition to Ismael’s team. The Belgian’s versatility is evident, as he excels in a wide attacking role, but he can also play left-back, which might give the manager an opportunity to switch up his lineup with offensive wing-backs.
Earlier in his career, De Neve earned seven caps for Belgium at the Under-17 and Under-16 levels combined, demonstrating his high regard as a teenager.
He might give Blackburn much-needed talent as they aim to go to the playoffs the following season. He is a strong runner down the left flank.
Blackburn’s summer is off to a good start, and now Ismael has to add additional players between now and August.
