Blackburn Rovers in advanced transfer talks for Leeds United & Sunderland target

Rovers agonisingly missed out on the Championship play-off spots last season, falling two points shy of sixth-placed Bristol City after a draw away at Sheffield United on the penultimate day of the campaign wasn’t good enough to propel them into contention.
Valerien Ismael is due to refill his squad though ahead of the new season that gets underway in August, and he is aiming to home in on a new centre-back option at Ewood Park in the form of Sagnan.
In the past week, the 26-year-old, who played 27 times for Montpellier in Ligue 1 this season, has also been linked to Leeds United and Sunderland.
However, it seems that Rovers are moving quickly to try and sign the Mali international, as the Lancashire Telegraph reports that negotiations are underway between the two teams to reach an agreement.
Although talks are still going on to attempt to make the move a reality, Rovers have Saint-Etienne’s Mickael Nade on their radar as a backup, left-footed option in case a deal for Sagnan cannot be finalized.
