Blackburn Rovers should hope that Bristol City land transfer coup – they’d be set for a financial windfall
With European clubs vying for Tyrhys Dolan’s services, Blackburn Rovers will undoubtedly be hoping that the
departing player will join Championship rival Bristol City.
Alan Nixon has stated that the Robins are showing interest in the winger after his contract has expired.
Clubs in Greece and Turkey are also interested in signing the player, so the Championship team will need to ward off
their advances.
With the new season only a few weeks away, there is a lot of conjecture around the winger’s immediate future as he is
now a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Blackburn.
The 23-year-old made 44 appearances in the league last season, contributing seven goals and six assists, playing a
key role in the team as they finished seventh in the table, just two points outside of the play-off places.

Blackburn Rovers will surely have one Tyrhys Dolan wish ahead of contract scramble
BDolan may have left Lackburn because his contract was up, but it doesn’t mean they won’t get anything for his next
move.
An impartial tribunal may decide that the Lancashire team is still entitled to a transfer fee because the player is
under 24.
Blackburn would accept the highest amount they can currently obtain for Dolan, even though there is no question
that he might have been worth a substantial sum—possibly as much as £5 million or £6 million if he had been under
contract.

order to maximise the possible fee from his departure. In contrast, a move overseas would only earn them a meagre
six-figure sum for his services, as many clubs have witnessed in the past, such as Charlton Athletic losing Joe Aribo
to Rangers for just £300,000 because of FIFA regulations.
A tribunal might award the Blackburn seven figures for Dolan because of his vast experience in the second division,
even though it would be significantly less than his true value as a player. This would assist in defraying some of the
expenses related to his departure as a free agent.
Rovers cannot afford to let a seven-figure money go like that if Valerien Ismael is going to bolster his team, even
though Bristol City might be a challenger for promotion next year and there is a chance for some humiliation if he
scores a vital goal against them in the forthcoming season.
Tyrhys Dolan’s departure is a sign of Blackburn Rovers mismanagement
Dolan’s departure is still a big blow for Blackburn, especially given how impressive his performances had been in the
previous campaign.
Losing him as a free agent will really hurt Valerien Ismael’s squad, and he will need to be replaced this summer
despite a minimal fee coming in for him.
It’s feasible that a deal might have been struck for him to leave this summer, but at a price that more accurately
reflects his prospective value to Rovers, had his contract been handled correctly.
Rather, he is the most recent player to leave the team for less than anticipated, joining Ben Brereton Diaz, Darragh
Lenihan, and Joe Rothwell.
It will still hurt for fans to see Dolan wearing a jersey for Gerhard Struber’s team next season, even though Blackburn
will have financial incentives to hope he signs with their Championship rivals.
