Blackburn supporters send drastic request to club officials

Senior club officials have been persuaded by a number of Blackburn Rovers fan groups, led by BRFC Action Group,

not to attend the team’s last eight games.

They’re asking Chief Executive Steve Waggott, COO Suhail Pasha, and Head of Football Rudy Gestede to avoid

Rovers games till the end of the season under the slogan ‘enough is enough’.

In addition to mounting off-field worries, fans have become irate over what they believe to be a lack of

communication and leadership from the board and Venky’s owners. They have therefore started this campaign to

bring about change at Ewood Park.

BRFC Action Group have a long history of dealings with the club and its current ownership. Formed in 2012, they

were particularly active in Venky’s early years when Rovers were under the management of Steve Kean.

In the interest of unity, they are now urging senior executives to abstain. In order to support the players, they insist

that everyone be on the field for the season’s final eight games, and their presence has caused division among the

supporters.

As the team enters a crucial stage of the season, a coalition of individual Blackburn Rovers supporters and fan

groups, including the BRFC Action Group, EWMC, Kidder Street Noise, The Rovers, ReadRovers, New York Rovers,

and All Rovers, are urging everyone associated with the club to come together and foster a positive environment,

according to their statement.

“It is imperative that all efforts be directed towards creating a positive atmosphere at Ewood Park in order to support

the players and backroom staff throughout this critical period. Supporters must fully support the club, particularly in

light of off-field issues that have naturally irritated the fan base.

In light of this, we kindly ask that Head of Football Operations Rudy Gestede, COO and owners’ representative

Suhail Pasha, and CEO Steve Waggott skip the remaining games this season. We think that many supporters are now

divided by their presence, and that their disappearance may promote a more cohesive and targeted environment.

“Our request is made with the best interests of the club in mind, as unity is essential for success in these decisive

weeks. Supporters’ frustrations have grown due to concerns over the management of playing assets, declining

matchday attendances, and reports of executive pay increases during a period of serious uncertainty for the club.

“The football community at large is aware that the Rao family is not honouring their commitment to “honour the

Jack Walker heritage.” Accordingly, there is a growing desire for new ownership as a result of the perception that

Jack Walker’s legacy is gradually being undermined.

“This is not a personal plea; rather, it is an appeal for unity and a common dedication to our ultimate objective,

which is to join the Premier League.

“We remain fully committed to Blackburn Rovers and will continue working alongside supporters old and new, to

ensure a brighter future for the club, one built on the values of our greatest supporter, Jack Walker.”

A request for comment has been made to Blackburn Rovers.
