Board statement: Rebuilding has already begun

Board statement: Rebuilding has already begun

The board provide an update from The Citadel.

Our thanks

We want to officially congratulate all of the young players who have shown up for Farsley Celtic Football Club over

the past few months and given it their best.

They have demonstrated some genuine talent and have played for their shirt. We couldn’t have asked for more from

our youthful team, who have stepped up and helped keep our club running during a challenging time, even though

the results may not have gone our way. Clearly, there is a great deal of room for expansion. We also want to thank the

players who have stuck with us this season.

We also want to express our gratitude to manager David Stockdale for his amazing effort with the players. We

appreciate David’s professionalism, devotion, and loyalty to the club; he took on the post knowing the challenges,

having inherited a challenging situation.

We also want to thank all of the volunteers who help kids every week as part of our flourishing junior section, and

we’d like to congratulate our women’s, deaf and ETS teams on their outstanding seasons on the pitch.

We’d also like to thank the fans who have travelled to Buxton and to our away games this season. We’re sorry for the

inconvenience you’ve faced and we know the travel isn’t easy. The support of each and every one of you who have

been attending games is very much appreciated.

We also want to express our gratitude to all of the donors to our crowdfunder, which has contributed £14,000 so far

to assist ensure the club’s immediate survival. Do not stop contributing, please.

The fact that this season has been unforgettable, both on and off the pitch, cannot be overstated.

The story does not end with relegation. Our board is putting a lot of effort into making sure the club survives to fight

another day.

The rebuilding of the club has already begun and we intend to root the club firmly in the community. This has to be

done on a sustainable basis and we know the club needs stability moving forward.

Ground and pitch update

Many thanks to the volunteers who came to The Citadel for two active days. We are awaiting the inspector’s formal

judgement on ground grading and will let you know when it is available.

Obviously, the pitch is the main problem. We intend to lay a new grass pitch, as we have already mentioned.

We have applied for a grant from the Football Foundation to help with the installation of the new grass pitch because

the ground was contaminated last December. We have worked out prices with contractors for the project. We shall

learn whether the funding application was approved in June.

Our goal is to return to Farsley as soon as possible.

Our plans to replace our outdated floodlights will also be submitted. Since they are now unreliable and extremely

costly to operate, this is a crucial piece of work going forward. We want to reduce the number of pylons from eight to

four. Once more, the replacement will depend on obtaining grant funds.

Finances

We are certain that we can assemble a club that will compete in the Pitching In NPL, and we have already created a

budget and business strategy for the upcoming season. We are looking forward to formally introducing our new

partners in due time, and we already have some commercial agreements in place for the upcoming season.

Updates

Many things are happening behind the scenes, which we will make public as soon as possible. There is still a great

deal of work to be done.

We are still dedicated to giving this football team the best sustainable chance for a prosperous and secure future.

We appreciate your patience and continued support.
