Police say the investigation into the tragic death is still ongoing. It has not been determined whether the casualty is male or female.

The force said: “We were called to Woodhouse station shortly before 6 a.m. on Monday, following reports of a casualty.

“Officers and paramedics responded, but unfortunately, a person was pronounced dead on the scene.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to their death.”

Rail services passing through Woodhouse station were suspended for several hours this morning as a result of the tragedy.

This means that there were no services to Kiveton Park, Retford, or Lincoln earlier this morning. The first train scheduled to run this morning was the 10.39am to Lincoln.
