A boiler reportedly exploded in a residence, prompting firefighters to evacuate homes in a town.
At 11:55 BST on Wednesday, the Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service reported receiving a call at Alexandra Street in Nuneaton.
Sara Bibb, 34, one of the residents, claimed that she believed the fire began when the boiler in her mother’s home “blew up” while she was sleeping.
A spokeswoman stated that although the fire was still burning, it was under control after crews discovered it in a bedroom and on the roof of three terraced houses.
“It’s unlivable now and the whole property has gone,” Ms. Bibb continued. According to her, the family was looking for temporary housing.
“The thing they’ve got to try and do first is find clothes as they’ve only got the clothes on their back,” added the 34-year-old.
After being called, Warwickshire Police officers blocked the road and placed a cordon, which has subsequently been removed, according to a spokesperson.
