Huddersfield Town have been linked with a move for Bolton Wanderers midfielder George Thomason this summer.
According to Alan Nixon, the 23-year-old is on the Terriers’ short list of options as Lee Grant seeks to strengthen his first-team squad.
It has been suggested that Brad Potts is their favorite option at the moment, but an approach for Thomason might develop if Preston North End refuse to sell the 31-year-old.
Thomason progressed through the Bolton academy system and has emerged as a prominent player in recent years.
George Thomason exit claim

When asked about Thomason’s probable move to Huddersfield, FLW’s Bolton fan analyst Liam O’Meara said it’s a transaction that might benefit all parties.
He believes that every player in the roster currently has a price, and that it may be time for a change for both the midfielder and the club at this point following a bad previous season.
“I think pretty much every player in the Bolton squad has a price at the moment,” O’Meara told Football League World.
“I believe they intend to bring in a lot of new blood.
“Now, George Thomason is a player I admire; I believe he is a very excellent player who, on his best day, can be a dominant midfielder.
“But he didn’t have his best season last season, and inconsistency crept into his play.
“I believe it has the potential to be a beneficial step for everyone.

“It allows George’s career to take a fresh turn; being a new signing at a club may make a significant difference.
“And, Bolton appear to be interested in bringing in a variety of midfielders, so it may be one of those situations where, while it is a transfer to a League One opponent, it is beneficial for all parties.
“Would wish him the best of luck if he was to move on.”
Last season, Thomason made 38 League One appearances, scoring four goals and assisting three times.

Thomason sale would make sense if Steven Schumacher wants to go in a new direction
If Bolton decides to go in a different route with the type of midfielder they want to play every week next season, Thomason’s departure could be for the best.
Losing him at 23, when he still has the potential to improve his game, might be costly, especially if he helps a League One rival get promotion.
However, if Huddersfield make a decent offer, it may be worth contemplating raising additional funds to assist Bolton in the transfer market.
It remains to be seen whether an offer will be made, but now could be a good opportunity to cash in on Thomason at the proper price.
