Botafogo reach agreement to sign Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto.

Botafogo has reached an agreement with Bournemouth to sign Neto. The 36-year-old Brazilian custodian is set to fly to Rio de Janeiro on Monday night for a medical before completing the proposed transfer.
There will be no transfer fee, but as one of Bournemouth’s highest earners, the Premier League club will save significantly on salaries.
Neto’s contract was set to expire in June of next year, and he will join Botafogo on a deal that will last until the summer of 2027, with the option to extend by six months.
Botafogo is ranked seventh in the Brazilian top flight. The former Fiorentina and Valencia custodian moved to Bournemouth from Barcelona in the summer of 2022.
He leaves the club after keeping 13 clean sheets in 63 appearances. Neto made 32 Premier League appearances in 2023-24, up from 27 the previous season.
The former Brazil international spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Arsenal, where he made just one appearance. In July, Bournemouth signed Chelsea custodian Djordje Petrovic. The 25-year-old signed a five-year contract.
