Brad Arthur admits he remains confused about whether to stay at Leeds Rhinos: but insists his players are making it harder for him to walk away.
With 11 rounds remaining in the Super League season, it is still unclear whether Arthur will be in the bench at AMT Headingley next season.
Leeds sporting director Ian Blease told the Yorkshire Post earlier this week that he is cautiously optimistic about maintaining Arthur. But, with his two boys back in the NRL, the Australian says it’s a difficult personal decision.
Arthur echoed that message to the media earlier this week, and while he stated that nothing had changed in his mind, there was a subtle indication about how Leeds’ progress in 2025 is persuading him to stay.
But he stated that he was ‘confused’ by the entire issue.
He stated: “Nothing has changed. I’m perplexed, I don’t know. I’m truly enjoying my position; I love it here and working with this group.
But I miss my two boys. It’s a lifestyle choice. One day everything is fine here; the next, I want to be with them. I do not know.”
Arthur then revealed that, with his wife and kid situated in England, Leeds’ team is making his decision more difficult.
He responded, “I realize everyone wants answers, but I don’t have any to offer. I’m enjoying every moment I’m here. My wife and daughter enjoy life here, and if the players continue to perform well, it will be difficult to go.”
