Bradford City close to signing with Everton academy product ‘heading’ to Valley Parade from Stockport County

Ibou Touray is supposedly on his way from Stockport County to Bradford City.

The 30-year-old is an experienced left-back who has battled his way up the football ladder since being released by Everton as a youth.

He had a key role in Salford City’s extraordinary ascension from the National League North to League Two, as well as Stockport’s promotion from the fourth to the third division.

It appears that his next challenge will be in West Yorkshire, with the marketing specialist reportedly on his way to Valley Parade.

Ibou Touray appears to be on his way to Bradford

According to Sam Byrne of the Manchester Evening News, Touray is set to visit Bradford this summer.

Stockport offered Touray a new contract at the end of the 2024/25 season, along with teammates Fraser Horsfall and Callum Camps.

Regarding the contractual uncertainties, Stockport CEO Simon Wilson stated: “We are in discussions with various people about next measures, and as soon as we have final conclusions, we will provide an update.

“I appreciate fans (as we are) will be keen to see players commit, however deals must suit all parties and we all must respect the players’ positions as they consider options.”

Horsfall has subsequently gone to Blackpool, and Camps has signed new contracts.

Bradford City’s Summer Refresh

It appears that Touray could become Valley Parade’s fifth signing of the summer. Max Power, an experienced midfielder who had previously played in Denmark, was the first through the door.

Curtis Tilt, an imposing centre-back, joined on a free transfer from League Two club Salford City.

Joe Wright then joined, bringing his defensive experience from Kilmarnock, before wideman Josh Neufville arrived from AFC Wimbledon.

Bradford have been connected with defender Murray Wallace following the end of his seven-year contract with Millwall.

However, the former Scotland youth international has joined their Yorkshire rivals, Huddersfield Town.
