However, the versatile striker, who can play anywhere in midfield, didn’t receive a single start and only played 73 minutes of football in 16 games in eight substitute appearances.
He finished his fanciful tenure at the CBS Arena last month when he scored a spectacular last-minute volley to give the Sky Blues victory over Portsmouth. Frank Lampard held him in great respect for his good impact, popularity, and experience in the locker room and at Ryton.
Also very well-liked by the supporters, who quickly capitalized on his local roots by coining the cry “He calls it a batch…” Paterson’s brief but memorable tenure at City will live on in our hearts forever.
