Breaking news Leeds backed to agree Aaron Ramsdale deal after Rangers decision.

Leeds United have been supported to acquire Southampton custodian Aaron Ramsdale, despite suggestions that Rangers are interested.
On the current episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Leeds keeper Paul Robinson stated that he “would love” to see the 27-year-old England international move to Elland Road. Daniel Farke’s side has been trying to improve in goal, as Illan Meslier is no longer thought to have a future at Leeds following a mistake-filled season.
This follows Football Insider’s revelation in April that Farke regards Ramsdale as a “great fit” for Leeds and is a “big fan” of him as they consider a move.
Meanwhile, the Southampton custodian is thought unlikely to join former boss Russell Martin to Rangers, who plan to continue with Jack Butland.
On June 16, Football Insider revealed that Martin intends to keep Butland at Ibrox beyond the summer transfer window and wants him to establish himself in preseason.
Leeds United and Rangers make Aaron Ramsdale decisions
Robinson previously told Football Insider that Leeds should target Ramsdale as a statement signing to replace Meslier as they pursue a high-profile deal.
The Southampton star’s contract includes a release clause that was activated after the club was demoted from the Premier League, and he is generally expected to leave St Mary’s.
Robinson said Leeds should be among Ramsdale’s suitors, despite confirming that a transfer to Rangers was unlikely at this time. “Jack Butland is contracted until 2027,” he told Football Insider.
“He demonstrated his ability with spectacular performances in European competitions last season.
“Jack Butland is a good custodian and the number one custodian. “I don’t think the Rangers’ goal is to replace Jack Butland. “I’ve previously stated that I’d like to see Aaron Ramsdale move to Leeds.
“For Ramsdale, I’m not convinced a transfer to Rangers would be perfect at this time of his career, with the World Cup approaching and a desire to return to the England squad.
“For Rangers, I don’t see that being a priority when they’ve got a custodian of Butland’s quality.”

Manor Solomon update emerges after Tottenham return
Leeds is looking for more than just a new custodian this summer, as Farke looks to upgrade his squad following their promotion to the Premier League.
On July 4, Robinson informed Football Insider that Leeds is trying all possible to re-sign Manor Solomon from Tottenham after “saying goodbye” following his loan stay.
However, they are not anticipated to be alone in their pursuit of the Israel international, and Thomas Frank intends to evaluate his future during pre-season training.
This comes after former Tottenham Hotspur scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Burnley and Leeds are both interested in signing Solomon.
