Don Goodman has advised Leicester City to pursue Chris Wilder following his firing by Sheffield United.
Sheffield United decided to cut ties with their former boss last month. SUFC has subsequently hired Ruben Selles, who previously managed Southampton, Reading, and Hull City.
Wilder, 57, led the Blades to third place last season, trailing Leeds United and Burnley. However, they fell to Sunderland in the play-off final.

Goodman believes he would be a good fit for Leicester City, saying, according to Football League World, “I take Chris Wilder’s pedigree at Championship level particularly is still very high, most people would probably feel he’s been treated very harshly by Sheffield United, and he accumulated 92 points if you add on the two points deducted last season, which is a brilliant record.”
“The question then becomes, will Leicester City be a very desirable employer, and if so, how many points will be taken away from them?” “It would be an attractive job if they start on an even keel.
You would suspect the owners are keen to bounce back at the first attempt, and when you say all that, that means the name Chris Wilder should be someone that they’d be considering,” he continued.
Chris Wilder should be hired by Leicester City following Sheffield United’s departure.

Sheffield United’s decision to let go of Wilder was a risk. Hull City fired Selles, SUFC’s replacement, at the end of the previous season due to a lackluster performance.
The Tigers only managed to stay ahead on goal differential. Only Luton Town’s defeat at West Brom allowed them to survive after they drew 1-1 away at Portsmouth on the last day.
Wilder has been with the Blades twice. During his first term, he led them from League One to the Premier League. In 2023, he went back to Bramall Lane for another attempt at the top position. The former defender has also held positions at Watford, Middlesbrough, Oxford United, and Northampton Town.

How is Sheffield United doing now?
Sheffield United will want to win promotion the following season in order to make up for their defeat at Wembley. Over the coming months, SUFC hopes to hold onto their most valuable assets.
The Blades have the opportunity to add a few fresh players. Selles will want to make his mark on his newly acquired team.
Leicester City is now searching for a new head coach. Following Ruud van Nistelrooy’s recent departure, they will be considering their alternatives.
The Foxes finished in the bottom three and were eliminated from the top division. They lost to Southampton and Ipswich Town.
