Having secured promotion to the Premier League with a total of 100 points, it’s only natural that Burnley will need to guard against interest in some of their standout players.
Players such as James Trafford, CJ Egan-Riley, and Josh Brownhill have been connected to other clubs since the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign.

Maxime Esteve, the club’s player of the season, is another man who keeps attracting admiring looks.
It is reported that both Everton and Tottenham have their eyes on the Frenchman, who was part of a defense that achieved 30 clean sheets and allowed only 16 goals last season.
L’Equipe has indicated that FA Cup winners Crystal Palace and Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich are also interested, but not to the same degree as the Premier League club.
In April, Esteve expressed his deep affection for Burnley in an interview with the Burnley Express.

“I play for Burnley, I’m a big fan of this club, and I’m doing really well here,” he stated.
„Deshalb denke ich an nichts anderes, nirgendwo, nur an Fußball in Burnley und daran, die Saison gut zu beenden. The finishing position in the Premier League is the most significant factor. That is the aim. I simply consider this.
Once promotion was confirmed, Esteve wrote an end-of-season message in which he expressed his excitement about returning to the Premier League.
He posted on Instagram: “Where we deserve to be!”
„Eine unglaubliche Saison – Centurions, der Rekord für zugefügte und erhaltene Tore sowie für „Clean Sheets“ und vor allem die Rückkehr in die Premier League, die wir euch versprochen hatten.
Thank you for your amazing support over the year, at Turf Moor and during away games.
“Can’t wait to see you again for another thrilling season. “Up the Clarets!”
Only a week after the Frenchman had sparked speculation about a possible departure, Esteve’s social media message was posted.
The 22-year-old discussed his ambitions to play for a “top six” Premier League side in an interview with French outlet Foot Mercato.
“As a child, I aspired to play in the Premier League,” he said. “I basically only watched that on TV.
It is my dream to play for one of the top six teams in England. While I can’t name a specific club, it’s my dream to go there.
The centre-back, previously associated with Tottenham rumors, identified current and former Spurs players as sources of inspiration for him.
He added: “My favourite player [when I was young] was Gareth Bale at Tottenham, as I was a left-winger and a left-back when I was younger.
„Ich mag einen Spieler in der Premier League sehr, über den nicht jeder spricht – Micky van de Ven.“ He is extremely fast, and I really like him because I believe I share some of those speedy traits, even though he is much quicker. He inspires me as he is a player with a similar profile to mine.
