Cardiff City are negotiating to hire Brian Barry-Murphy as their new manager.
The Bluebirds are in talks with Leicester City about the 46-year-old, who is currently on Ruud van Nistelrooy’s backroom staff at Leicester.
Talks are thought to be ongoing, which should pave the way for the former Manchester City academy coach to take over at the Bluebirds.

Cardiff began advanced conversations with Barry-Murphy about the position when he emerged as the main candidate to succeed Omer Riza, who was fired in April.
Wales captain Aaron Ramsey had taken interim command but was unable to avert the club’s relegation to the Championship, before ruling himself out of the running.
Barry-Murphy, who has previously been associated with the Cardiff position, was among the options submitted to the club’s board by a panel, with former Oxford United manager Des Buckingham also a contender after efforts to appoint Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones failed.
The Irishman hasn’t managed at the senior level since a two-year stint at Rochdale, where he was praised for his style of play and ability to work with local players. Personal terms would still need to be explicitly agreed upon with Barry-Murphy, as well as agreements for backroom staff.
