Celtic board won't grant Brendan Rodgers two big money wishes...

There has been no support for Celtic to go out and make significant financial splashes in the transfer market.

Brendan Rodgers will not be supported to spend heavily in two areas, according to one analyst, but he must make

one Celtic transfer acquisition.

The Hoops will play St. Mirren next weekend as they get ready for the Premiership season. Shin Yamada, a striker, is

the most recent addition to manager Rodgers’ championship-winning squad as part of an ongoing recruitment effort

aimed at qualifying for the Champions League league stage.

The Celtic player trading game is all about buying and selling for a profit, but Charlie Mulgrew is worried about

whether Rodgers will have the money he needs to spend on a new defender and attacker. The former defender

believes that a winger will be essential, but he cannot see the board approving an opening of the war chest in those

two areas. Jota is permanently absent, and Nicolas Kuhn has departed for Como.

After Yamada, the Hoops are still searching for a forward. In addition to Callum Osmand, another recent addition,

Adam Idah and Johnny Kenny are options, while Daizen Maeda can step in up top if necessary.
