Patryk Klimala has signed with K League 1 side FC Seoul, marking the next stage in his well-traveled career. The former Celtic striker joins a group that includes a number of familiar faces.
Klimala will be joined in Seoul by Jesse Lingard, who currently captains the squad after leaving Nottingham Forest, and Ki Sung-yueng, a fan favourite who formerly played for Celtic and has over 200 appearances for Seoul in two periods.

Klimala returned to his boyhood club, Śląsk Wrocław, before relocating to Australia. However, his stint in Poland was disappointing. He struggled to make an impact, playing mostly for their second team and failing to score or earn a regular spot in the senior squad.
His most steady stay after Celtic was with the New York Red Bulls, where he scored 14 goals in 61 games. It wasn’t until he joined Sydney FC for the 2024/25 season that he found his scoring ability, netting 17 goals in 31 appearances alongside former Brazil winger Douglas Costa.

Klimala joined Celtic in January 2020, after the 2019/20 season was delayed. Despite great hopes, the attacker struggled to find his rhythm in Glasgow, scoring just three goals in 28 appearances across all competitions before joining the New York Red Bulls in the summer of 2021.
His new club, FC Seoul, is the ninth of his senior career, and he hopes to finally establish stability in the K League.
