Celtic set to sanction former Hibs star’s transfer exit as medical booked ahead of proposed Ligue 1 switch
He played for Hibs the previous season, but he is now expected to leave Celtic for another move.
During this summer transfer window, a former Hibs player is expected to leave Celtic permanently.
While all eyes are on David Gray’s team in Denmark for their Europa League second round qualifying first leg
matchup against FC Midtjylland, the transfer market is still going on in the background. Though former players are
also moving away, they have signed Thibault Klidje, Jamie McGrath, Josh Mulligan, and Raphael Sallinger thus far.
Kwon played for Hibs when they finished third in the Premiership after joining on a season-long loan from Celtic last
summer. Although he wasn’t a consistent starter, interest in his services has increased, and according to French
reports, Nantes, a Ligue 1 team, is expected to make him a three-year contract offer. After being leased out to St
Mirren and subsequently Hibs, the player, who signed a five-year contract with Celtic in 2023, is currently
undergoing a physical.
Kwon Celtic transfer exit approaches
Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Celtic, only recently acknowledged that Kwon would probably be leaving this
summer. “We’re also very pleased to bring Kwon to the club, on the same day that we’ve also announced the signing
of Yang,” he said after bringing the midfielder to Parkhead for the first time during his first summer back.
“Once more, the club has known about him for a while, so it’s fantastic that we’ve finalised the transaction, and I’m
sure the player is thrilled about the transfer. We’re excited for both players to join the team and contribute to what
we believe will be yet another great campaign.
Why Hibs signed Kwon

play as an 8 or a deeper 6. He is an excellent athlete, fiercely competitive, and at ease with the ball as a player. He
demonstrated these skills during a successful loan stint the previous season. We are excited to collaborate with him
and are honoured to have him join the Club.
“We’re really happy to make Hyeokkyu our ninth signing of the summer transfer window,” Sporting director Malky
Mackay continued. He has a strong background, is a tremendous presence on the pitch, and is another elite
professional to join the First Team group. We want to express our gratitude to Celtic and Brendan Rodgers for the
seamless transition and the speed and efficiency with which we completed this transaction.
