The summer transfer market is now open, allowing clubs in the Championship to pursue their desired agreements for the upcoming season.

Kyle Walker is returning home as Sheffield United consider numerous options.

Sheffield United are interested in signing Kyle Walker, which may surprise some. The only problem is that they’ll need Man City to either loan him out and pay his wages or cancel his contract.

Chris Mepham appears to be a more likely deal for the Blades, however the outcome remains uncertain. United are expected to beat Sunderland and Burnley to the Bournemouth defender’s signature this summer.

Sheffield United may have to wait for Everton’s decision on Youssef Chermiti later in the transfer season. Stoke City are also interested in the young striker.

In our Championship transfer round-up, Ryan One, a youthful striker, might potentially depart Sheffield United this summer. He’s desired by Liverpool, but he’ll require guarantees of playing time at Bramall Lane before making a decision.

Southampton has plenty of irons in the fire, including Juma Bah

Southampton are already making significant preparations for their return to the second division. Juma Bah is on their radar; he previously worked with Will Still and might join on loan.

St. Mary’s is considering Christos Mandas to replace Aaron Ramsdale, who is expected to leave. The Lazio custodian would cost £17 million, which could be a concern.

Southampton reportedly bid £4 million for Lucas Cepeda. However, his Colo-Colo club chairman has claimed that no communication has been made with the Chilean as of yet.

Besfort Zeneli, a midfielder from Elfsborg, is also under consideration. The player has done little to dispel the allegations, stating that he will speak with his agent soon.

Southampton are looking to recruit Kaine Kesler-Hayden from Aston Villa. Coventry City were the favourites to sign the full-back, but the Saints and Middlesbrough are now involved.

Harry Darling will decide between Norwich City and Rangers.

We announced a couple of weeks ago that Norwich City were interested in Harry Darling. Rangers have joined the pursuit, bringing new developments.

The Canaries are understood to be Darling’s preferred choice in England, but the pull of Russell Martin north of the border may prove crucial.

Napoli has made approaches for Borja Sainz, making it increasingly probable that Norwich will lose him. So far, Ben Knapper has turned down those approaches. It is thought that he will try to remain hard and negotiate a higher compensation for his top player.

We’re sure to see a lot of Josh Sargent news in our Championship transfer round-up until a deal is completed. Leeds United has made a bid for Sargent worth about £16.8 million.

Liam Manning’s potential signings include Jason Knight from Bristol City. However, he is expected to be too expensive and will most likely sign with a Premier League club.

Championship transfer round-up: West Brom, Wrexham, Middlesbrough’s newest

We end our Championship transfer round-up with a short look at the best of the rest from the second division.

West Brom aim to capture Harry Toffolo on a free transfer. However, they will face competition from several clubs, including Celtic.

Wrexham transfer speculations persist throughout the summer, with Birmingham City competing for the same players. They both want to sign Joe Gelhardt from Leeds United. They could get Lewis Travis from Blackburn Rovers for £2 million as he refuses to sign a new contract.

Middlesbrough are poised to lose two of their top players this summer. Hayden Hackney has been assigned a £20 million price tag, according to insiders. Meanwhile, Premier League clubs like Rav ven den Berg, but a Bundesliga switch is more likely today.

Finally, Japhet Tanganga could leave Millwall. Crystal Palace are interested, although the defender would rather move to Germany or France. If he leaves, Millwall has a list of potential replacements.
