Dejphon Chansiri released a statement after breaking his silence.
It does little to alleviate Sheffield Wednesday’s present financial predicament. It offers no guarantees regarding upcoming employee compensation.
Admittedly, he has “been seriously engaging in looking for investment from new parties and continues to do so to quickly remedy this situation.
” He is prepared to sell, Chansiri added. Owls supporters who want the present chairman to leave may find some solace in that. However, there is still a great deal more that could be done.
Will wages be paid in whole and on time for this month and beyond? Is there a budget in place to cover the club’s expenses for however long it takes to be purchased? Is the asking price currently within a reasonable range to draw in the type of buyer who can close a deal?
This is significantly more significant than the majority of the message, which is Chansiri’s reaction to remarks made by consortium members who have placed bids for the club.
To be fair, when the consortium addresses the media, Chansiri ought to be given a voice. However, there is a place, a time, and a hierarchy of priority for the subjects that need to be covered. Considering the response, it appears that several fans were irritated by the statement’s extensive description of the talks with that organisation after it had been silent for so long. In all honesty, the last few weeks have seen much too much online chatter.
No one is benefiting from it. There are too many ‘in the know’ rumours (many of which are untrue), too many statements that are quickly retracted, and too many people who speak for others.
Supporters want the backstage issues to be resolved. None of this, in my opinion, has improved the issue, which is most likely why Chansiri felt the need to reply.
