Charlie Adam: I worry for Dundee this season.

The former Dark Blues captain shared his relegation predictions for the upcoming season. Charlie Adam admits that he is concerned about Dundee’s prospects this season.
After two years with the Dark Blues, the Dundonian retired as captain of his boyhood club in 2022. And he always keeps an eye on what’s going on at Dens Park.
However, Adam is concerned about the major summer upheaval caused by the departure of manager Tony Docherty and a slew of first-team options, followed by the arrival of Steven Pressley as head coach and a complete overhaul of the first-team structures.
“I worry about Dundee. That is my team. I’m concerned about what’s going on,” Adam said on The Warm-Up podcast with Kris Boyd and Chris Sutton.
“There doesn’t appear to be much business being done. “Steven has gone in and tried to shake things up.” Sutton asked if Adam, like many Dundee fans, was sceptical of the appointment. “I was surprised.
“It was completely unexpected,” he said. “I thought Tony Docherty did a good job of making it into the top six.” “Of course, you don’t want to be fighting for relegation on the final day, but the second season is always tough. “There must have been a disagreement between him and John.
“So, something has definitely happened. I was shocked to see it because I thought he was doing a good job of bringing in young players and giving them opportunities.
Compensation for Lyall and Josh
Two of those young players have left Dundee, with Lyall Cameron moving to Rangers and Josh Mulligan joining Hibernian. Adam saw both firsthand during his time at Dens Park and believes they will succeed at their new clubs.
“I spoke with David Grey last week, and he’s done really well. “I like Josh,” Adam said about Mulligan. “Josh has the power and speed to move around the pitch. It’s about finding the right position for him.
“I believe he is a running eight who can also play wingback. “Lyall is going to be very good technically. Not a problem. “There is no physical problem. He’ll be among the fittest there.
“But now you can go to that big club from Dundee and meet the expectations there. “He may not play as frequently, but if Rangers win the Champions League or Europa League, they know he has the talent to play in the league on a Sunday.
“Josh is a little different because he’s moved to Hibs, where there is pressure, but it’s not as big a step from Dundee to Hibs as it is from Dundee to Rangers.” “This is a fantastic move for the two lads.
“If you’re Dundee, you’re disappointed because you’re letting them go for compensation, which you didn’t want to do, but they did.
“But it’s a great move for the two boys because they’re great kids who are always eager to learn and grow.
“The three of them, obviously including Fin Robertson, are the same. “But I think Josh has got potential to kick on again.”
Where will Dundee finish?
But where does Adam believe Dundee will finish? All three pundits predicted who would finish at the bottom.
Boyd predicted Dundee to finish 12th, while Sutton and Adam predicted Falkirk. “I’ll go to Falkirk. Adam said, “I don’t want Dundee in 11th.” “Motherwell for 11th.”
