Carey scored his first goal for the Addicks in their 1-1 draw with Millwall last Saturday. He has started all five of Charlton’s Championship games this season. Parkin acknowledged that he was pleased with Carey’s play and that he thought a goal was imminent for him based on his prior
performances and went on to say that he believes Nathan Jones fully supports the central midfielder. Although he is not one of the most graceful players to watch, the 24-year-old is highly effective for his club, according to the former Championship great, who also commended Carey for his contributions to attack and defence.
