Community celebrated at Wolves Foundation walk

The stroll gave an opportunity for participants to communicate between themselves during a week in which the topic has been ‘Community’, with positive reinforcements also being presented on the displays in WV1 and questions to stimulate discourse posted on the screen inside Molineux.

Healthy Goals, a toddler group, Head 4 Health, which offers mental health support to adults, Wolves Elders, which fights loneliness and isolation, and a school that participates in the Foundation’s Premier League Primary Stars program were among the projects that were participating.

Wolves Elders member Michael Lee said he enjoys being active with the club’s official charity.

He remarked, “I’ve been a Wolves fan since 1965, when I was eleven years old, so it’s really nice to get involved with the club that you support.”

“It’s a good environment and a nice day out, we really enjoy the social side of it and have made new friends.”

Perton Primary Academy teacher Lily Aust discussed the benefits the Foundation has on the kids.

We felt the mental health program would be great for them since they are starting middle school, and it has been fantastic,” she added.

“You can see how it has had a really positive impact on the kids today.

Every week, the Wolves Foundation goes above and above for the kids; this week, Wolfie came to open our reading cabin!

“The kids are having a great time, and it’s good to see them at Molineux today. The Foundation has been a huge help to us, so I would highly recommend them.”

Following the walk, various workshops aimed at fostering positive mental health were held at Molineux. One such program saw Head 4 Health participants participating in a collective painting session.

“As staff, we came up with the idea of organizing a walk around Molineux when we learned that the theme of Mental Health Awareness Week this year was ‘Community,'” said Jasmin Patel, senior health officer of the Wolves Foundation.

It was good to be able to engage participants of all ages and promote dialogue between those various age groups because improving mental health is a component of almost all Foundation projects.

“With the help of some beautiful weather, we also decided to incorporate a few leisurely laps around the stadium because we know how much exercise and physical activity can improve mental health!

“The workshops afterwards were also really worthwhile and constructive, and overall it was a great event to bring people together from across the city.”
