Could Commanders trade Terry McLaurin if extension talks stall?

Terry McLaurin is dissatisfied with the state of the discussions for his one-year deal with the Washington Commanders.

For this reason, Kristopher Knox, a writer for Bleacher Report, proposed a deal that would send McLaurin to the New England Patriots.

The Patriots may acquire McLaurin from commanders.

“In addition to adding a proven head coach in Mike Vrabel, New England added the likes of centre Garrett Bradbury, right tackle Morgan Moses, rookie left tackle Will Campbell, wide receiver Stefon Diggs, wideout Mack Hollins, rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson and rookie receiver Kyle Williams,” Knox stated.

“Will the Patriots still have place for McLaurin after all of those additions? Of course. “Diggs arrived in New England with a lot of unanswered questions, despite being signed as the top receiver.

He has already created an off-field distraction with a particular viral boat video and is recovering from an ACL tear. Despite a few standout plays with Buffalo last season, Hollins has primarily been a third or fourth receiver.

In contrast, McLaurin shown last season that he can be a very useful tool for a quarterback who is still learning.

Although he and Daniels didn’t have the most productive season statistically, they were a very effective combination—when targeted, McLaurin gave a quarterback rating of 133.0.

New England’s second-round selection is still probably going to be quite high, even if they should be better this season than they were in their four-win campaign last year. By adding reserve tight end Austin Hooper, the Patriots might be able to seal a deal.

In an attempt to obtain a fresh contract, McLaurin has not yet shown up for the Commanders’ mandatory minicamp.
