Coventry City looking to snatch player away from EFL League One side

Coventry City is one of the clubs targeting Luton Town’s Lamine Fanne this summer.

That’s according to journalist Rudy Galetti, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the most recent information on the midfielder and the EFL League One club’s ambitions for him.

Last summer, Luton Town reached an agreement with AIK Fotboll for the 21-year-old to join them in January. Since going to England, he has played 14 games for Matt Bloomfield’s team, which has been demoted to the EFL League One.

Coventry City aim to bring him back to the Championship during this window.

Galetti claims Frank Lampard’s team has joined Cremonese and Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the race for the player’s signature. He adds that Empoli and İstanbul Başakşehir have lately approached the player’s camp.

Fanne is wanted by Coventry City and other clubs, but Luton Town wants to keep him, according to the journalist. The EFL League One team sees him as critical to their mission as they seek to return to the second flight.

Fanne’s contract expires in 2029, and Galetti makes no indication of whether he’s interested in joining any of these clubs or plans to stay at Luton Town.
