Crystal Palace player now appears to have picked new squad number which could hint at end to transfer speculation
At the moment, Crystal Palace is experiencing a summer filled with genuine uncertainty.
Following the FA Cup victory last season, a number of important players, including Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze, Jean-
Philippe Mateta, Adam Wharton, and Daniel Munoz, were linked to moves away from Selhurst Park.
After being demoted from the Europa League to the Conference League, Crystal Palace is also at odds with UEFA,
but the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is still considering an appeal of that decision.
But now, there may be some good news for Crystal Palace supporters over Munoz’s future.
Daniel Munoz seems to have taken the No.2 shirt after Joel Ward departure
The Colombia international – who was named Man of the Match in the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City –
recently cast doubt over his future when speaking to Win TV.
“They haven’t spoken to me directly, but I want to play for the best teams in the world,” Munoz said, acknowledging
his desire to leave Crystal Palace.
“I hope it can happen as soon as possible, and I dream and work towards it every day.” I’m really content at Crystal
Palace, but I hope it’s in this window.
As Mateta unintentionally disclosed while filming his teammate on Instagram, Munoz may have his sights set on a
lucrative transfer, but the Colombian has now taken a potentially telling move by grabbing Joel Ward’s No. 2 shirt.
Although it’s not as if the South American has signed a new deal or anything, why would he bother to take a new
shirt number if he was really focused on moving this summer?
A transfer away would undoubtedly be expensive because Munoz, a right-back who scored six goals and supplied
eight assists in 46 games last season, is tied to the Eagles until June 2028 and is not thought to have a release clause.
The most likely player to depart Crystal Palace this summer

TBR Football is aware that Arsenal is interested in signing Eze, Liverpool wants Guehi at Anfield, and Tottenham
likes Adam Wharton.
The latter is probably going to leave this summer.
With just 11 months left on his contract, Guehi is being pursued by Liverpool, Newcastle, and Tottenham.
Therefore, if Crystal Palace doesn’t make a move this summer, they risk losing the England international, who is
presently valued at almost £50 million, for free in 2026.
