Werder Bremen has decided to cut short their Danny Rohl plans and the manager may regret his decision to reject Southampton now.
Admit it or not, Will Still’s decision to return to England has been instrumental in bringing him to St. Mary’s for a Southampton job. Strangely, Still’s choice to return home is the only thing the new Saints manager has in common with the club’s long-rumored target, Danny Rohl.
Otherwise, after being rejected by Rohl for a second spell, any Southampton fan would like to talk about their former assistant manager?
But just look at the fast shift of events now. Southampton are currently satisfied with their new boss, while Rohl searches for a dream Bundesliga comeback.
Despite being a top candidate for many Bundesliga positions, Rohl has yet to receive a call from clubs like as VfL Wolfsburg and Leipzig. But if that wasn’t enough, the manager has now been flatly rebuffed by a local German club.
Werder Bremen, although initially showing interest in Rohl, has dropped him from their final management shortlist.
According to Sport Witness, a Bild report verified Werder Bremen’s Rohl attitude, stating that “he was one of the closest candidates.” However, discussions with Röhl failed to achieve their objective.”
Rohl may regret Saints choice after recent rejection
To be honest, Rohl’s prominence has slipped from being an outside favourite for all available coaching positions at the time, including Southampton, to now having less possibilities.
In fact, the Championship manager may now be regretting his decision to leave a Saints post. Especially since he took the hot seat for the managing position with great pride not long ago.
To be honest, with managerial positions filling up quickly in both the Championship and his native Germany, Rohl may be compelled to stay at Sheffield Wednesday for another year or two.
Even after what he did to Southampton, Saints fans will not want Rohl to wind up in such a situation, but perhaps that is what he deserves for his actions.
