Dartford Crossing police incident causes Lakeside traffic.

Drivers in Lakeside are experiencing severe delays this afternoon due to a police incident on the Queen Elizabeth II bridge.

Heavy traffic has accumulated on the M25 clockwise, with the bridge partially blocked due to a police incident at the Dartford Crossing into Kent.

Although the incident has been resolved, traffic remains congested at junction 29 and surrounding Lakeside Shopping Centre.

An Essex Police spokesman stated, “We were called to an incident on the Dartford Crossing bridge shortly after 12pm today.

“Officers responded to concerns about the well-being of a man on the bridge and worked with ambulance service colleagues on the scene.

“The man has been transported to safety and placed in the care of medical personnel.

“This response necessitated the closure of the bridge to traffic.”

An accident in Dartford has partially blocked the anticlockwise direction of the M25, causing traffic congestion.
