Dartford Crossing police incident causes Lakeside traffic.

Drivers in Lakeside are experiencing considerable delays this afternoon due to a police incident on the Queen Elizabeth II bridge. Heavy traffic has accumulated on the M25 clockwise, with the bridge partially blocked due to a police incident at the Dartford Crossing into Kent. The incident has since dispersed, however congestion lingers until junction 29 and all routes near Lakeside Shopping Centre.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “We were called an incident on the Dartford Crossing bridge shortly after 12pm today.
“Officers reacted to concerns about the well-being of a man on the bridge and worked with ambulance service colleagues on the spot. “The man has been transported to safety and placed in the care of medical personnel. “This response necessitated the closure of the bridge to traffic.” The M25 anticlockwise is also partially closed, with queueing traffic due to an accident at Dartford.
